Webserver unavailable 8 july

9 July 2010

Dear Customer,

Yesterday (8 july 2010) we experienced downtime between 20:16 (CET) and 23:11 (CET) due to hardware problems with one of our servers. Switching to our backup scenario failed, we investigated this issue to make sure we cannot experience any further future downtime. All services are restored since 23:11 (CET) and running as normal.

Below you can find the Incident Summary:

At approximately 20:16 (CET) on Thursday 8 July 2010 the memory of one RAID controller where quorum disk was located failed which caused the cluster service to terminate and high availability was lost. This Affected our total redundant server cluster resulting a complete loss of service. Automatically one of our technicians was notified by our warning system. At 21:01 (CET) our technician arrived at our primary data center. After running diagnostics he discovered that the memory of one raid controller failed. At 22:10 (CET) our technician replaced the memory and rebooted the servers. All services are restored since 23:11 CET and running as normal.

Action: After solving the problem we made sure that the cause for this problem cannot result in future downtime.
